Teaching Baby to Hunt

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

The Osprey parents are trying to teach the young to eat outside the nest. They get the babies to fly to the tops of adjacent power poles and then feed them there (images 1 & 2). One of the fledglings was fine with that, and happily ate the fish mom brought (image 3). The other one flew back to the nest and screeched his head off, calling for food (images 4, 5, & 6). Watch his happy expression when he sees Mom bringing food (image 7) - and his disappointment (images 8 & 9) when she takes it to his sibling (image 10)!
