These pictures are a study in take off and landing technique.
Here comes the male mallard sailing in with feet well tucked.
Flaps up.
Down comes the landing gear.
Meanwhile this male is cleared for take off. Notice that his feet are tucked as he passes over the male we just saw who is just about to touch down.
Gaining altitude.
And he's off!
