WALKING ON THE WILD SIDE WITH HERON - Part I

It was really chilly, as in, only one tiny part of the pond remained unfrozen. This guy

stretched his neck to take a look as we approached. Then he resumed his more disgruntled stance:

Can't say I blame him. A freeze during mating season has to put a kink in someone's plans. However, as the sun set, he decided that the company of the ducks in the single unfrozen section of pond was far preferable to standing in the wind. So he began his stately journey.

The ducks managed a much quicker arrival.

But at last our friend arrived, taking his place with dignity.

The light fails. Night falls as everybody settles in.

But is this the end of the story? Stay tuned for our next exciting adventure ---
