This is a male Green-Winged Teal. According to the Cornell Lab, he's one of the smallest dabbling ducks in North America.
This photo displays a little of that famous wing color that has given him his name.
Here he is with his Missus. If she weren't showing that gorgeous bit of wing color, I might mistake her for a female mallard.
I have enjoyed the duck migration season. I will miss them -- until next year!
