GULLS ARE BIRDS, TOO!

And they demand attention. Too often, they are overlooked in favor of the showier and rarer osprey. But gulls have their own beauty.

I followed this guy (or gal) all the way down my field of view of the Columbia River. He was beautiful, flying into the wind.

Against the backdrop of the river, he sailed with complete assurance ---

As did his friends.

The gulls can catch the wind and ride, but my Sassy is earth bound, following her nose.

As for me, I must content myself with photographing the flora ---

And envying the flight of the birds.
