DECEMBER 27th WAS CHILLY

Yet the geese at Blue Lake Park basked in the long rays of evening sunlight.

Picking their way through the grass, they seemed content.

Just down the road at Caswell Garden in Troutdale, the sun wasn't so generous. These ducks gathered in clans to shelter against the wind that whipped across the water.

Every move seemed orchestrated as this crew moved up and down, avoiding the wind.

Always in groups, hunched against the onslaught.

At the wetland near Chinook Landing this egret posed in the evening light ---

Until the light passed on.

The sun gently set --------------------and the moon rose, only to get caught in the trees.
