Some of the oldest buildings in North America are in Quebec City. This area even has a moat!
And these are the buildings that the moat protects - more by smell than a physical barrier I think!

This might be a rectory - it in on the church grounds at Pierre-fonds, Quebec. I love the tower cap.
This is the church, which dates back to 1844, that replaced one from the mid 1700's.
